How Bank Rebates Work — And Why They Are Perfectly Legal

Banks pay distribution partners for the volume and quality of bank products submitted. Instead of keeping that revenue, we share it back with the office that produced it. That is all a rebate is: a disclosed bank rebate on business you generated.

Amounts typically range from $8 to $18 per bank product and scale with volume. Nothing is deducted from your preparation fee, and nothing extra is charged to your client to fund the rebate.

Because the arrangement is between the distributor and your office — not tied to the taxpayer's fee disclosure — it is a standard, legal commercial incentive. Every taxpayer fee remains disclosed and consented to in the bank application.

Rebates are reconciled after the season and paid in July for qualifying usage, alongside any incentive programs your office earned.
